The difference between UX and UI design

  • The layout of the tables and chairs
  • The menus (including the fonts, colours, and pictures)

In short:

• UX is about how the experience works. Is it smooth, efficient, and enjoyable?
• UI is about how it looks. Is it attractive, clear, and engaging?

They both work together to create a great restaurant (or website, app, etc.). You need a well-designed kitchen and friendly staff (UX) to serve delicious food, but you also need a comfortable and inviting space (UI) for people to enjoy it in.
